Use and Care Guide to using your Cove Dishwasher

Sep 08, 2022

Do you want to ensure that all your dishes are crystal clear and sparklingly clean after a cycle? You can. Avoid the problem of dirty dishes after a dishwasher cycle with the following tips.

Detergent

Cove recommends using any powder, liquid, or all-in-one detergent pods like Finish, Cascade, or Finish Quantum pods/tablets.

Powder detergent has enzymes and bleach in one product, and provides the best results. Examples include Finish or Cascade.

Liquid detergent has either bleach or enzymes only, and therefore is not suggested for best results.

If using liquid detergent, use Finish or Cascade liquids for better results.

All-in-one pods can be used in Cove Dishwashers. However, for lighter cycles, like the Light, Quick, and China/Crystal cycles, they may provide too much detergent.

For best results, keep a small-size liquid or powder detergent on hand for use with lighter cycles.

Refer to Cove Dishwasher Wash Cycles for detergent measurements.

If using all-in-one pods, use Finish Quantum pods and tablets for better results.

Use the following tips for cleaning the interior and exterior of a Cove Dishwasher.

Stainless Steel Exterior

  • Use a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner and apply with a soft lint-free cloth.
  • To bring out the natural luster, lightly wipe surface with a water-dampened microfiber cloth followed by a dry polishing chamois.
  • Always follow the grain of stainless steel.

Control Panel

  • Use a spray degreaser to remove fingerprints and food soil.
  • Spray on a cloth before wiping panel.
  • Do not spray cleaners directly on the control panel.

Dishwasher Racks

  • Remove from the unit and wipe with a damp cloth.

Interior

  • Wipe interior, door edge, and rubber seal with a damp cloth.
  • If necessary, spray household cleaner on the cloth. Do not spray directly on the door.
  • To prevent buildup of food soil, occasionally run a Heavy cycle with High Temperature Wash and Sani Rinse selected. Running this cycle quarterly with a dishwasher cleaner is recommended.
  • Clean filters and screens every 1-3 months. For instructions, refer to Cove Dishwasher Filter.
  • To prevent odors and excessive moisture, leave the dishwasher door slightly ajar when not in use.

Spray Arms

  • Remove from dishwasher and rinse in the sink.
  • Use a needle or paper clip to remove debris from holes.

Filter

  • Remove from dishwasher and clean with soap and water.
  • For hard to remove soils or calcium deposits, use a soft brush.
  • Do not use a wire brush or scouring pad.

To remove calcium or lime build-up:

  1. Empty the dishwasher.
  2. Fill the detergent compartment with 3–4 ounces of citric acid crystals, then close the cover.
  3. Run a normal wash cycle.
  4. Fill the detergent compartment with dishwasher detergent, then run a normal wash cycle again.
  5. Repeat if necessary.
